Almost everyone knows of the adorably messy cake smash sessions that babies do for their first birthdays, but did you know you could also do a “donut smash”?

Meet cutie patootie Zia who I had the special treat of capturing for her first birthday, and guess what her party theme was? DONUTS!! As soon as I learned about this, I just knew that I had to whip up a sweet studio setup to go with her donut themed celebration!

I’ve been so eager to share baby Zia’s super cute first birthday donut smash photos, but wanted to wait until her actual birthday to post! Well, today is that special day and in her honor, I am featuring just a few of the many adorable images we captured during her shoot! This girl is quite the eater, so it came to no surprise to us when she immediately attacked the donuts like a champ! Happy birthday sweet Zia and donut grow up!!
