It seriously feels like just yesterday when I photographed my daughter’s “first day of school” portraits and now she is officially going into her 2nd year of preschool! Where does the time go?
As a photographer, it’s so easy to become wrapped up in capturing photos of other families that you often forget to photograph your own! I, myself, am guilty of this and often times, it’s due to the fact that I place too much emphasis on finding that perfect location or that trendy matching outfit!
This year, I made it a point to keep things simple and found a wonderful location for my little girl’s portraits – the local public library! I grabbed an outfit my daughter already owned, her favorite toy (a yellow magnifying glass), and headed over to our library right before sunset!
This shoot only took me about 10 minutes and had I spent anymore time obsessing over little details, maybe I would’ve never captured these images at all! So moms and dads, stop putting off having your family portraits done because you’re still waiting for the right time! Book a session with me this fall and let’s preserve those happy memories before they get away from us!
