It’s amazing how many milestones a baby goes through in just the first 12 months of life! Little Olivia first came to me as a newborn baby at just 6 days new, and look at her now celebrating her one year old birthday with a milestone and cake smash photo session at my studio! She is growing up to be such a beautiful little girl, bubbling with adorable personality and a smile that can light up any room! Where does the time go?!
As Silicon Valley’s top baby photographer, I have photographed hundreds of adorable children! At 1 year old, some babies are already running off the set while others are perfectly content just sitting and observing their environment. Now when it comes to the cake smash, it’s always a mystery to me how the baby will react (which is what makes this part of the milestone session so fun)! At first, most babies will need a little assistance to start the cake smash process since this is usually the first time they’ve ever seen such a decadent dessert! However, all it takes is one taste of the icing to jump start their reaction, and from there, the cake smash (or no smash) begins!
In this first birthday cake smash, Olivia wasn’t too crazy about her giant cupcake, so we had to entice her by sticking some puffs into the cake itself! She also had a Breakfast at Tiffany’s themed first birthday party coming up, so of course we had to incorporate her adorable little black dress and “Olivia & Co” gift bag into her shoot! How precious does she look?
A special thanks to Olivia’s family for choosing me once again as your San Jose baby photographer and a shoutout to Minty H Cupcakes for customizing the amazing giant smash cupcake for her shoot! Mina is incredibly talented and provides custom cupcake designs for all occasions!
